Kiwi Lemonade

So, my husband and I love kiwi and we love lemonade...why not kiwi lemonade? Applebee's has this wonderful delight, but they use soem sort of syrup which I do not have the capacity or tools to make...plus, it's probably 100% sugar which is tasty to me, but not exactly the best. I chose honey to help cut down on extra sugar. Hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

Ingredients
1/2 cup honey (or 2/3 cup sugar)
4 cups water
4 skinned kiwis
1 cup lemon juice

Directions
Peel kiwis and place in blender. Blend until pureed. Mix together honey and water until the honey is dissolved. Once that is dissolved add in the kiwi and lemon juice and give a few twirls of the spoon to mix it up. Enjoy!

As a side note, it is really easy to make this more fun by adding some frozen fruit as ice...I would recommend strawberries, but that's a personal preference :)

Also, my mother-in-law tried it out with some added ginger ale which was really fun! It gave it some interesting flavor and a fizzy pop! With this crazy heat wave, anything that helps cool you down is a winner in our book!! Keep cool, my friends!

  4. This made me smile - because we call ourselves kiwis here in New Zealand - after our native bird! And what you call kiwis we call kiwifruit.

I found you via the Real Housewives of Riverton Recipe Round up. I linked in a post about spicy mince lettuce cups. Have a great week.

  8. This sounds so yummy and really refreshing. I drank a lot of fresh fruit drinks in the Middle East, but somehow I don't think to have them when I'm here in the UK.
